On our last trip to Honduras to serve with Bridge Ministries, God spoke to Kelly a time line as to when He would send us out to be full time missionaries. We had been praying for over a year for His perfect timing and asking God to give us peace and understanding for where He would send us. We knew when we received our confirmation that we needed to partner with Bridge, to help continue their work glorifying God and building His kingdom. The verse Matthew 9:37 "Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few" continued to pop up in our minds. God is all over Bridge Ministries and is moving in so many ways in their rec center, school, and through humanitarian work; yet they are so short handed on staff which really limits their ability to spread the word of God to even more people. We know God has given us very specific gifts that align with the vision of the ministry and that He will use us to do His work in Honduras. This summer showed us how God works in such mysterious ways. Ever since our first two trips to Honduras I have been stoked up, anxious, and ready to stay full time but each year Kelly kept pulling me back in saying it's not time. This last trip I felt more so calm and at peace that God will let me know when we need to be moving into our new adventure. When I let go of that anxiousness and let God lead, Kelly received her word from God and was stoked up, saying it was time and we needed to start preparing . God gave her a time line of 14 months to prepare and be ready to move and serve as full time missionaries in Honduras. I guess He was trying to teach me to let go and let God, huh? We are super excited that in our preparations we are building relationships meeting new people, connecting with various churches, and being challenged by developing our presentation and website. God has already provided many confirmations that He is leading this mission we are seeking, and that His hands will continue to guide us and not our own. He has provided so many divine appointments already on this journey and we are so thankful for that! The hardest part thus far has been to tell family and close friends that we will be moving. Many were sad that we will be so far away, but they also know that we have to do this, not for ourselves but because it is a calling from God. Others who do not quite understand may think we are crazy. But we feel that it is crazy for us not to go to the place God has called us to; the place we have seen Him and His glory and His power at work the most, as well as the place He has used us most effectively for His glory and kingdom. We are super stoked and excited for the adventure of the year ahead of us; full of changes as we prepare spiritually, find partners, and are lead by God to start this awesome adventure.
