Who We Are
Kelly and I met in college, not following Christ and with no intentions to do so. Living a stereotypical college life we first met through mutual friends and soon became good friends then a few years later began dating. We had no idea at that time the calling God had on our lives, but he was already forming our gifts for ministry. It was through a sports ministry at a church I did not attend that pastor Tom Schooley led me to Christ, and I surrendered to the Lord; allowing a transformation to happen in my life. When Tom asked me who I could pray for I told him I had a girlfriend named Kelly so we prayed for her and praise God, two months later Kelly gave her life to Christ. We began to attend First Friends; which we call our home church. We also began serving there, I in the Sports Ministry, and Kelly helping her mentor begin a Dance Ministry. We got married and continued to grow as a couple in Christ. During premarital counseling we both discussed our passions for travel, so we decided that each summer we would take a mission trip to see the world and to serve God. After a few months of looking for an opportunity, Grace was going to Comayagua, Honduras to a mission called Bridge Ministries, or Enlaces Con Cristo. We went and have never experienced God in such a way! It changed our lives forever. We grew so much spiritually in that week we knew that this was a path God had planned for us. With my eagerness I was ready to stay that first trip, but praise God for my wife who keeps me balanced and said it was not time for us. We returned the following year for a couple more weeks and our hearts just fell in love with the people there. It was our home away from home. In the summer of 2016 we led two groups from Grace down to Honduras to share with them the powerful movement God was doing there and share our hearts with our church family. During our third week there God put a peace in our hearts and spoke to Kelly through a dream giving her a time line. We knew it was time to begin preparations to follow God's plan for our lives to become full time missionaries. In January of 2018, with our then one month old son Ezra, we moved to Comayagua, Honduras to begin a whole new chapter of ministry that God was calling us to. Since then, we have been partnering with the ministry that God used to help open our eyes to our calling, Enlaces con Cristo.
